I don’t know if anyone noticed, but Creative removed the MP3 encoder in the most recent MediaSource versions, including this one 5.20.23. From what I know, it previously used the Fraunhofer codecs (IMO these are better than the other MP3 encoders out there) and I think they didn’t want to pay licencing anymore. You have to now pay $9.99 to add the “MP3 pack” to it.

I’m extremely irritated at this move, and i’m looking to see if anyone is able to add MP3 encoding back to MediaSource.

this is the support FAQ that confirms it. Sigh.

Eightyhertz if you would like to continue using the MP3 encoding function just install your older version of the software and then upgrade, the function will still be on it, that is for versions above 2.0 and less than 5, only if you install version 5 directly then u will have to pay to use the mp3 support

Version 5 won’t install unless it recognizes a supported mp3 player connected to your system. I lost my mp3 player, but I love the simplicity of the software. Anyone found a way around this dilemna? There should be a way around this BS…

figured it out: unzip the damn exe, delete the pid and cmsgo folders, then open setup.exe out of one of the other folders. Or, there’s a good version here I think:

The fishfinder approximates where the fish are by
measuring the amount of time between when the beam was sent out
and when it registered the hit. Depending on how
you’re going to want to do your fishing you’ll want to find a boat to rent for Michigan fishing.
The less there is between you and the ocean, the more intimate an experience you will have out at sea.

If you find it a bit maddening to follow the daily
fluctuations of the scale even though you are eating properly,
pick three days of the week on which you will always weigh yourself (for example, Monday,
Wednesday, and Friday). Avocados- Although not my favorite, are high in fats,
the good ones. That way, the actual process will end up being much less frustrating and,
for the majority of people, enjoyable.
