“Finally We Get Some Support”

I installed this last night (replacing Daniel K’s Feb 2008 drivers). Come across two issues:

1) Works with Zoomplayer (using AC3 filter) but under PowerDVD 7 Ultra, there is no sound. In fact, when I am in PowerDVD Configuration Audio Setup, all the fields are greyed out and I cannot select my speaker config. This causes me problem as I use PowerDVD to play my HD-DVD’s.

2) I went into Vista MCE and listen to some MP3’s. It works OK but when I turn CMSS on, I do not get sound from my rear speakers.

Anyone else try this? Would like to hear someone else experience.

I tried these as well and had sound effects on copy and paste actions that could not be turned off. ASIO options were linited in Foobar as well so I had to ditch them.

5 06 2008

Never mind my comments about the copy & paste sound effects. That was due to another program I had installed.

ASIO still won’t work in Foobar, however. Creative ASIO doesn’t play 44.1khz sources and the other two (SB Audigy 4 ASIO / SB Audigy 4 ASIO 24/96) have no output options.

These drivers are to be considered incomplete, the X-Fi version works better though.

I’ve had a few problems with WMP cutting out, Guild Wars sound “screeching” but nothing too major. In general, I don’t think it’s as bad as official releases that weren’t beta.

The 24bit stuff is getting better though. We might actually be able to use it by 2010.

I’m still sticking to KXdrivers.

I have SB046A (X-Fi Fatality Pro) card and run Vista SP1.
I only want to play back .wav files to SPDI/F Out using MusicMatch Jukebox player – using a Digital I/O Module via the combo jack on the top of the card’s bracket.

I have the same setup on a XP computer with SB0460 (X-Fi XtremeMusic) for more than a year and that works fine – the optical/toslink SPDI/F out jack on the Digital I/O Module is always lit in red when ever XP is running.

But this is not so with SB046A/Vista SP1 – the optical/toslink SPDI/F out jack on the Digital I/O Module always stays dark with exactly the same AudioConsole settings as SB0460/WinXP.

I had installed/re-installed the SBXF_PCDRV_LB_2_15_0006, DK’s SBXF_VTDRV_LB_2_15_0004A, and SBXF_PCDRV_LB_2_15_0004 Oct 2k7) that came on the Vista install CD on the SB046A/VistaSP1 machine and none made any difference to turn on the fiber in the optical/toslink SPDI/F out jack on the Digital I/O Module.

Will anyone please offer any suggestions which shall be greatly appreciated. ~~Mo of NJ

With the vista audio support pack drivers (ver 2.15.003) my audio would cut out intermittantly. this would continue to progressively become more densely frequent until audio stopped altogether. it could only be brought back by changing speaker configuration or restarting.

now with 2.18 the audio is stable!

1 annoyance: cmss 2 and cmss surround no longer available (i prefer the latter of all three cmss modes).
should I install the x-fi console with crystalizer? should I wait for creative (hah) to update this beta

PrEzi: Yep kX is great if you have a degree is software engineering.

Mo: I have no ideas, hence this blog exists. You could always try emailing customer support. Then you too can look forward to an automated response telling you that your product is older than 90 days

Then if you require to contact of a real person, they’ll charge you $$$. They will only tell you to “Check regularlly for software updates” anyway. I’ve been doing that since March 2007, when the last driver PoS was released!

ryan: Yep I know what you mean. It seems they can’t fix new stuff without breaking the old stuff. I’m begining to think it amuses them.

When I installation this driver of my audigy2 plat card. The Surround Mixer Can’t find MIC ? But have “Line in 2/Mic2″。

24 06 2008

does this drivers fix the microphone issue?

1. Micro doesn’t work only sometimes
2. Micro works but crazy sounds, like robot or something like that.

3. Can’t test it myself right now im on XP atm cause to this bugs

25 06 2008

I have that problem too scerate.. does this fix it? anyone?

26 06 2008

i tried it, doesnt fix it, have to stay to the Vista Pack from Daniel. Also they are very unstable, i got a lot of Bluescreens with them.

@ Toph

a workaround that i use for microphone is, i have enabled onboard sound but only use microphone, everything else is disabled, but i think the audigy 2 zs suffers from that.

Vista, Creative Labs, et ses pilotes
