READ THIS!!! IMPORTANT!!!
Before installing any new drivers or software, please take a moment to download and install Guru3D - Driver Sweeper. FnF has updated this release to include a whole bunch of Creative files & entries that cause drivers to fail to install, or not install correctly. Many, many common issues are resolved by simply running this BEFORE installing new drivers. Users with “Empty Speaker Selection In Audio Console” bug may want to go for the advanced removal of files to be certain that *.CDF and *.BAK files get removed. You can find a guide to deleting problem entries here.

I can’t offer any guarantee that the drivers here will work flawlessly on your system. Sadly, it’s a bit hit and miss. I can’t speculate, I’m sorry.
I don’t make the drivers, I don’t even claim to be the hero who found these work arounds. Creative make the software and the fixes are usually sourced from trawling through various forums. I have however, tried these workarounds on my own systems and found they work much, much better in Vista. I posted them here in one place for everyone to find easier.

This setup program will install the following items:
- Live! series driver 2.10.0001.23
- APO Interface Module 1.30.00
- Audio Console 1.20.57
- Audio Center 1.00.09
- SoundFont Bank Manager 3.20.20
WARNING: The included driver supports up to 2Gb of installed RAM

Applies to both 32-bit and 64-bit editions of Windows Vista.
In case more memory is installed, you will experience sound issues
and your system will crash randomly.
Windows Security warning during driver installation

When prompted with:
“Windows can’t verify the publisher of this driver software”
choose “Install this driver software anyway”.
Built-in Decoder

The built-in decoder is not supported. Use a third-party software.
EAX effects, Advanced EQ and Special FX

EAX effects, Advanced EQ and Special FX only work with programs with
OpenAL support or when using ALchemy Live!.
There is no sound in Windows and other applications

Disable Advanced EQ or Special FX selecting “No effects” in the EAX
tab of Audio Console.
After changing speaker mode there is no sound

Mute and unmute the main volume control.
Notes when using 4/4.1 Speakers

To avoid crackling sounds, you must do the following:
- select 4/4.1 Speakers in Audio Console
- select 5.1 Speakers in Windows Speakers setup.
Disable “Full Range speakers” for Bass Management to work.
