Fixes:
* Enables the DirectSound3D game audio to be processed by your Sound Blaster audio device to deliver EAX effects, 3D audio spatialization, sample rate conversion and hardware audio mixing. Without this, most DirectSound3D games will be reduced to stereo output without any EAX effects.
* Improves 3D audio processing for host-based Sound Blaster audio devices.

1. Download the ALMY_PCVTAPP_LB_1_20_04.exe file onto your local hard disk.
2. Close all other Windows applications.
3. Double-click the downloaded file.
4. Follow the instructions on the screen.

Is there any way to unlock the ddl support for an X-Fi pci-e ?
I just bought one not knowing it does not support it… Yea I know.. creative sucks!

daniel_k released an older version of ALchemy. He mentioned that would work with ANY soundcard, in theory.
Might pay you to uninstall it and try it.

How does one get Hitman Codename 47 (Hitman 1’s) MUSIC to play on Vista SP1.
The EAX/Sound effects are working ok. Its the opening screen has a midi-crap rendition of the theme music, and the levels have no music at all. All other sounds 100% working.
Ive tried:
original cd
original cd + patches
gametap
trygames
nocd patches on 1.0 and patched hitman
NONE of them play the title music or background music. Ive tried the following sound cards
D975XBX2
XiFi Fatality Pro
Audigy2 ZS
Creative Alchemy 1.0 and 1.10, 1.20.
Seriously, there is MONEY in fixing old sound applications on Microsoft horrible embarrassing piece of junk, Sludge Pack 1 (SP1) which broke more things than it fixed.
I think it’s perhaps an ALchemy related thing, regardless that the EAX is working. Have you tried removing Hitman from the ALchemy list and seeing if it still does it? If so then yes it’s ALchemy -but it could be driver still.
I know Chronicls of Riddick and a few others also showing signs of incompatibility.
You can report bugs like this in the Creative Developer Forum. It might be fixed by next Christmas.
